ALDI TOASTS SCOTTISH BREWERS WITH NEW SPONSORSHIP DEAL
Scotland’s first annual competition which celebrates Scotland’s booming beer business has secured a headline sponsorship deal with one of the UK’s fastest growing supermarket chains.
The Scottish Beer Awards will be sponsored by Aldi in Scotland in a new two year deal to support and promote the competition alongside the supermarket’s own highly successful in store Scottish Beer Festivals.
The deal is the first major corporate sponsorship for the awards programme which launched 6 months ago and has received entries from 31 breweries and 154 beers, all brewed in Scotland.
Work is now underway to prepare a celebration industry awards dinner for 300 people which will announce the winners in 15 categories.

National achievements and initiatives:
- Aldi offers staff the highest starting pay in the sector – at least £8.40 an hour to all employees and more to those in London. This is significantly higher than the National Living Wage
- Aldi is the official supermarket partner of Team GB, which will compete in the Summer Olympic games in Rio.
- Proceeds from the sale of Aldi’s carrier bags are donated to the RSPB as part of a partnership agreement.
- Aldi launched its eCommerce platform in January 2016, selling a range of high quality wines and Specialbuys, attracting approximately one million visitors each week.
